Children's and Youth Ministry
As a church we are committed to teaching children about Jesus from the Bible. Bright Sparks and Rock Solid are weekly mid-week groups that provide a safe and fun environment for children to spend time together and hear the Bible taught.
As well as learning about Jesus the groups do a range of age appropriate activities including craft and games.
(Reception to year 2)
Thursdays, 4.30 - 5.45pm
(School years 3-6)
The first time your child attends one of our kids' clubs you will be asked to fill out a form with contact details and information about any allergies/ health issues. During Bright Sparks you are welcome to stay in our Way In Café for a drink and a chat while the children meet.
We recognise the vulnerability of children and young people in today's society and so we operate a child protection policy for the protection of those in our care. All children's and youth workers have also been DBS checked. It is the parents' responsibility to arrange transport to and from the activities.
Rooted is our youth group for school years 7-13. We meet all together from 8-10pm on a Friday to look at the Bible together, sing and enjoy a mix of activities.
During our Sunday morning services we run "Treasure Hunters" groups for pre-school and primary-school-aged children and a group called "Rooted Nano" for school years 7-8. Children join us for the start of the service and then leave for their groups when directed to do so. There will be plenty of people around to show you where to go. The kids will have great fun playing games and learning about Jesus in a way tailored to their age and understanding.
Treasure Hunters 1 - Creche for children up to 20 months
Treasure Hunters 2 - 20 months to 3 years old
Treasure Hunters 3 - Nursery & Reception (3 to 5 year olds)
Treasure Hunters 4 - School years 1 & 2
Treasure Hunters 5&6 - School years 3-6
Rooted Nano - School years 7-8
Once a month (usually on the second Sunday) we have an All-Age service. School-aged children stay in for the whole of our gathering (pre-school children leave for their groups as normal).
Children are very welcome to come to our evening services. Clipboards, pens and sermon sheets are available to help them to concentrate during the sermon.
The Hub Table Talk
At our fortnightly small group Bible study - The Hub Table Talk - we have tables for young people and a group for primary school children. This is a great opportunity for kids and teenagers to be learning together with the rest of the church family from God's word.
Our Tots group - Tots by the Park - meets during term time on Tuesdays from 10am to 11.30am. Mums, Dads, Grandparents and child-minders are welcome.
Space at Tots by the Park is limited. If you haven't been before (or haven't been in the last month) please contact the church office.
Throughout the morning there is free play for all ages available and - until 10:45am - a craft activity, playdough and puzzles. At 10.45am, snacks and drinks are brought out for the children and we have a DVD and short talk from the Bible for all to hear. The morning finishes with a brief “Song time”. Hot drinks are available throughout the morning.
4 nights away hearing the Bible taught, praying, playing games, doing activities and having loads of fun. It’s basically an extended version of what we do week by week at our regular children’s and youth groups.
